My Approach

Creative expression in the ways we navigate our lives is a sign of health and vitality. Past and current wounding and trauma can impinge or block this flow of connection to our full expression of self, and to our connection with others. My approach to therapy is nonpathologizing and nonshaming. I believe everyone has the capacity for growth and change, and that we are equipped with the inner resources to do so. It is through the foundation of supportive empathic relationship that these resources are awakened, wounds and defenses loosen their grip, and we come to discover our true nature, our full expression of self.

I work collaboratively, intuitively, creatively, and with curiosity. Each therapy session begins with inquiring what is most present for you, and is designed to meet your explicitly stated goals within a noncritical, nonjudgmental, and honest framework. To strengthen and further integrate growth I'll offer you tools and practices to use between sessions.

Healing takes more than just insight and surface behavior change, therefore somatic integration is the foundation of my work.

Somatic therapy calls on ones awareness of bodily sensation, and may incorporate, with permission, movement and self touch to bring about a harmonious integration of body and mind.
